Product Architecture and Systems Design

I'm Drew Littrell, CPO at Doorpass and an independent advisor on product architecture, information design, and AI-era systems strategy. I work with teams that have grown more complex than their tools, workflows, or structure can support. I also write about coordination, ownership, and the kinds of institutions new technology makes possible.

About

Work and Background

For the last decade, I've worked at the intersection of product design, information architecture, and systems strategy. I co-owned Built, where I led product and systems work for clients including Nike, Adobe, Galaxy, Cornell, OnX Maps, and IFTTT. Today I serve as CPO at Doorpass and run a solo practice focused on product architecture, workflow design, and operational coherence.

The through-line is structure: how systems work, where they break, and what it takes to make them usable, governable, and clear enough to move forward.

I'm most useful when the problem is no longer one screen, one feature, or one team. It's when the shape of the system itself is the problem: the product has become fragmented, the workflow no longer matches reality, or new tools have changed what should exist in the first place.
